If you are looking to play Monopoly online then you will need to use the appropriate means for setting up an online Monopoly game. This involves more than just setting up the rules and other factors that will be used for the actual game. This also involves using your IP address if you are going to be playing the game with a CD-ROM product. The process to do it is relatively easy though.
First, when setting up the game you will need to consider who is going to play. All players should pick the names that they will be identified with and the pieces that they will be playing with. After this the players will need to agree upon a set of rules. A typical Monopoly computer program will allow for the rules to be changed with ease. These include changing rules so that the players can play in a short game format or even in a tournament style format.
If you are playing Monopoly over a Java or Flash application then you will not need to worry about using your IP address or other materials. That's because this type of application will be used for all people who have downloaded the appropriate software and are members of the online group that provides it. However, if you are using a CD-ROM for playing Monopoly you will need to use a certain process that is easy to follow.
First, you will need to look up your IP address. You can do this by starting up the Monopoly game as you are online. You will enter your player information and then choose to play against someone on the Internet for the next players that you enter the information for. When you click on the Lan Detect feature of the menu or any other material that lists your IP address you will get the details on the IP address that you are using. You can also contact your Internet service provider for details on your address if this feature is not available on your program.
You will then need to enter the IP address of the people you are going to compete with. If you have a friend you are playing with online then you will need to enter that person's IP address. If you are playing with random people then you will need to enter their IP addresses after you get them through a chat application or by email.
So, setting up an online Monopoly game is easy to do but it requires having the right rules and players set up and using the appropriate program for the game. Your IP address and those of your competitors may be required in some instances.
